Commemorating Confucius' birthday and promoting national culture
"Isn't it a pleasure to have friends coming from afar?" This is a sentence in the Analects of Confucius, a great thinker, politician, educator and founder of Confucianism in ancient China. I believe readers will not be unfamiliar with it.
The core ideas of Confucianism: benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, faith, forgiveness, loyalty, filial piety and fraternity
Ren: lover.
Meaning: originally refers to "Yi", that is, the behavior is suitable for "Li". Confucius took "righteousness" as the moral principle to judge people's thoughts and behaviors.
Propriety: propriety and politeness. The political and ethical categories of Confucius and Confucianism.
Wisdom: the same as "knowledge" refers to knowledge, understanding, insight, knowledge, intelligence, wisdom, etc.
Faithfulness: it refers to the attitude of being honest and consistent in words and deeds.
Forgiveness: do not do to others what you do not want, including forgiveness and tolerance.
Loyalty: stand up to others if you want to, and reach out to others if you want to. Confucius believed that loyalty is the loyalty and honesty in communication with others.
Filial piety: Confucius believed that filial piety is the foundation of benevolence. Filial piety is not limited to supporting parents, but should focus on respecting parents and elders. He believed that if there is no sense of filial piety, supporting parents would be regarded as raising dogs, which is a great violation of filial piety.
Ti: it refers to the respect for your elder brother. Confucius attached great importance to the virtue of fraternity. According to his thought, his disciples called fraternity and filial piety as "the foundation of benevolence".
